About The Manhattan Project

The Manhattan Project was all about the research and development of the nuclear bomb , and was years in the making, from 1942 -1947 during the last years of the Second World War.

It was led by the United States in collaboration with the United Kingdom and Canada. Nuclear physicist J Robert Oppenheimer was the director of the Laboratory that designed the bombs.

There was much secrecy about the project as it was feared that the details would get into the wrong hands.
